Update the email address associated with your Fourthwall site
Updated March 24, 2026
Change the email linked to your account by inviting a new user and removing the old one
If you need to update the email address associated with your Fourthwall site, you can do this by inviting the new email to your team and removing the old one.
Because accounts are tied to the original login email, the email itself cannot be directly edited.
Step 1: Go to Team settings
From your Fourthwall Dashboard, click on Settings, then navigate to the Team section.
Step 2: Invite a new email address and accept it
Use the "Invite a new member" option to send an invitation to the new email address, which you need to enter.
Then, assign the role and click Invite.
Step 3: Accept the invitation
Open the invitation email and follow the prompts to accept the invite.
Once accepted, the new email will have access to the shop.
Step 4: Remove the old email address from Team settings (optional)
After confirming the new account works correctly, you can remove the old email.
Go back to Settings > Team and remove the user.
This will effectively change the primary email associated with your account.
Troubleshooting
Error: "Cannot remove user because email (email@example.com) is linked to payouts."
If you try to remove a user and see this error, it means the email address is linked to your Stripe payout account.

In this case, the Stripe account must first be archived before a new payout account can be set up with the new email address.
Please contact us at support@fourthwall.com, and our team will assist you with the process.
FAQ
What happens if I change a Google Workspace SSO email?
If your team signs in using Google Single Sign-On (SSO) and the primary email address changes in Google Workspace, the existing Fourthwall account cannot be transferred to the new email.
A Fourthwall account can only be connected to the same Google email originally used for SSO.
What should I do if a team member's Google email changes?
The recommended approach is to create a new user account for the team member. Have the user accept the invitation and sign in with Google SSO.
Once accepted, the new account will have full access to the shop.
Can the old account be reused with the new email?
No. Because the account is tied to the original Google email used for SSO, it cannot be migrated to a different email.
You can remove the old account after the new one has been added.
