# How to Share Members-Only Audio Content on Spotify

Fourthwall is an official Spotify partner. You can sync your members-only audio posts directly to Spotify, making exclusive episodes discoverable and accessible to your members. You can add members-only content to an existing podcast or create a brand-new podcast on Spotify.

## How to sync your audio with Spotify

To start syncing, go to [**Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/spotify/?redirect) in your Fourthwall dashboard and select the **Members-only audio on Spotify** app. Click **Add members-only audio to Spotify** to open a modal with two setup paths:

[Image: Fourthwall Apps page with Memberships filter showing Discord server and Spotify audio cards]

[Image: Members-only audio on Spotify app page with video guide and Add members-only audio button]

- **Add to your existing podcast.** Choose this if you already have a podcast hosted on an external platform (such as Acast) and want to add members-only episodes from your Fourthwall membership directly on Spotify.
- **Create a new podcast.** Choose this if your podcast is hosted on Spotify for Creators, or if you want to create a new podcast on Spotify for exclusive content. You can also use Fourthwall to power both free and members-only audio.

If your podcast is hosted with Spotify for Creators, you must select **Create a new podcast**. The **Add to your existing podcast** option only works for podcasts hosted on external platforms.

## Add to your existing podcast

This path creates a new, separate podcast on Spotify for your members-only content, then links it with your existing podcast using Spotify's Synced Feeds feature.

[Image: Modal with Add to your existing podcast selected, Spotify URL input field, and Continue button]

1. Select **Add to your existing podcast** and enter your Spotify podcast URL. The system loads your podcast data automatically.
2. Give the new podcast a slightly different name (for example, add a suffix like "Members only") to distinguish it from your main podcast. You can change the name later.
3. Confirm the details and click **Continue**. Your podcast is created on Fourthwall but not yet synced with Spotify.

[Image: Modal showing loaded podcast details with cover art, title, and description after entering Spotify URL]

[Image: Podcast detail page with Sync podcast to Spotify button, RSS link, and step-by-step setup instructions]

To edit podcast details at any time, click the **...** menu in the top right corner to adjust the title, description, image, and categories.

Follow the steps under **Add members-only audio to this podcast**:

1. Choose whether to include all audio posts or only those with a specific tag. Tags let you publish only bonus content while keeping regular episodes separate.
2. Click **Sync podcast to Spotify**. The sync may take up to one hour.

Once syncing completes, a banner appears with a link to your new Spotify podcast.

## Claim your podcast on Spotify for Creators

After syncing, log in to your [Spotify for Creators account](https://creators.spotify.com/) (the same account your main podcast is on).

[Image: Spotify for Creators account dropdown menu with arrow pointing to Add a new show option]

1. Click the account icon in the top right and select **Add a new show**.
2. Select **Find an existing show**.
3. Choose **Somewhere else** as the hosting platform.
4. Paste the RSS link from your Fourthwall podcast page into the **RSS feed link** field and click **Next**.

Spotify sends a verification code to the podcast owner's email. By default, Fourthwall uses the Super admin's email address. You can change it by clicking **...** then **Edit podcast details** on your Fourthwall podcast page.

After claiming, the podcast appears in your **Your shows** sidebar. Make sure your main (free) podcast is also claimed on this same Spotify account using the same process.

## Link your main and members-only feeds

Once both podcasts are claimed on Spotify, select your main podcast from the **Your shows** menu and click **Settings**.

[Image: Spotify for Creators dashboard sidebar with arrow pointing to Settings and Podcast settings panel visible]

1. Scroll to the **Sync your feeds** section and click **Learn more**, then **Get started**.
2. Choose your members-only podcast as the **Paid feed**. Your main podcast is pre-selected as the **Main feed**. Click **Next**.
3. Define member benefits on the next screen. You can change these later.

Spotify finds episode pairs between your main and paid feed based on title matching. It hides the free version for verified members so they see only the extended or ad-free episode. Review the pairs and finalize the setup.

After setup, the synced status appears under the **Episodes** tab in your Spotify dashboard, where you can also configure episode pairs.

On Spotify, your supporters see locked content among your free episodes, with **Get access** buttons on members-only episodes.

## Create a new podcast

Select **Create a new podcast** in the modal to build a podcast from scratch on Spotify.

[Image: Modal with Create a new podcast tab selected showing cover artwork upload, title, description, and category fields]

1. Fill in the cover artwork, title, description, author, email, and category. The email is not shared publicly but is required to claim the podcast on Spotify and access statistics like views and subscribers.
2. Click **Continue** to create the podcast on Fourthwall.

[Image: New podcast detail page showing podcast title, description, and Sync podcast to Spotify button]

To edit details, click the **...** menu in the top right corner.

3. Click **Sync podcast to Spotify** to begin syncing. By default, all audio posts sync. Use **Sync only audio posts with specific tags to Spotify** to control which posts are included.

The sync may take up to one hour. After completion, a **Synced to Spotify** confirmation appears with a direct link to your podcast.

## How to stop syncing your audio with Spotify

To stop syncing, go to the [**Spotify app page**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/spotify/?redirect) in your Fourthwall dashboard and select the podcast you want to disconnect. You have two options:

- **Disconnect.** Click **Disconnect** in the **Synced to Spotify** section. This stops syncing but keeps your podcast settings on Fourthwall so you can reconnect later.
- **Remove podcast.** Click **...** then **Remove podcast**. This disconnects the sync and removes all podcast settings from your site.

## How can supporters listen to members-only audio on Spotify?

Access depends on which setup option you chose:

- **Existing podcast integration.** Members-only content appears as locked episodes on your main Spotify podcast page, with a special banner at the top.
- **New podcast.** Members-only audio is available directly on the new podcast page, which you can share with supporters.

[Image: Spotify podcast page with locked members-only episodes, Get access buttons, and subscriber extras banner]

When supporters click **Get access**, Spotify asks them to link their Spotify account with your Fourthwall site.

After linking, supporters are redirected to your Fourthwall site to log in (if they are existing members) or purchase a membership. Once logged in, they can access all members-only episodes.

## How can supporters disconnect their Spotify account from my site?

Supporters log in to their membership account, go to **Profile** > **Apps**, and click **Disconnect** next to Spotify.

## My supporters cannot see locked episodes on my podcast, but I can see them

Supporters must be logged in to their Spotify account. Spotify does not display paid content to visitors who are not logged in.

## Does Spotify charge additional fees for subscriptions purchased this way?

No. There are no additional fees from Spotify for subscriptions purchased through this integration.
