# Store customization: Search, dropdowns, and product display

Supporters can search your shop by product name, and you can add dropdown navigation menus and control how products appear on your pages. These settings live in Site Designer and the product settings in your dashboard.

## Store search

Store search lets supporters find products by name using fuzzy name-based matching. A search icon appears in your shop's header. Clicking it opens a search bar where supporters type product names.

The Search Results page (at `/search`) is a dedicated page that shows matching products. You can customize it in Site Designer just like any other page, including adding and editing sections.

Search is on by default for all shops. Shops with 20 or more published offers had search turned on automatically during the initial migration.

## How to enable or disable search

To turn search on or off:

1. Go to [**Site Designer**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/customize/?redirect) in your dashboard.
2. Click the search icon area in the header to access search settings.
3. Toggle search on or off and click **Save**.

## How to customize the Search Results page

The Search Results page works like any other page in Site Designer. You can add, remove, and reorder sections.

1. Go to [**Site Designer**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/customize/?redirect).
2. Navigate to the **Search Results** page.
3. Add or edit sections as needed and click **Save**.

The Search Results page URL is `/search` on your shop domain.

## How to add dropdown menus to navigation

Dropdown menus are supported in the header navigation. Nested items appear as a dropdown when visitors hover or click a parent link.

1. In your Fourthwall dashboard, go to [**Site design > Layout**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/store-design/layout/index/).
2. Select your **Header** section, then click **Edit menu**.

3. Edit the navigation menu and nest menu items under a parent link.

4. Click **Save**.

Custom dropdown fields on products are NOT available.

## How to change product card settings

Product card settings control how products look on your storefront and collection pages.

1. In your dashboard, go to [**Site design > Style > Product card**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/store-design/general/?active=Product+card).

From here you can adjust:

- **Aspect ratio** of product images.
- **Product tile size**, which affects how many products fit in a row.
- **Show second photo on hover**, enabled or disabled.
- **Center products horizontally**.
- **Show or hide promotion badges**.
- **All in one line** card layout, which displays the product name, price, and action on a single horizontal line.
- **Font family override** for product cards, independent of your shop's global heading and base font settings.
- **Product photo background color**, which only applies to images with a transparent background. You can add transparency in the product designer (preview mode), but this feature is available for select products only.

## How to reorder products in collections

You can manually reorder products within a collection. Your site reflects the updated order automatically.

1. In your dashboard, go to [**Products > Collections**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/products/collections/).
2. Pick a collection to edit.
3. Rearrange products into the order you want and click **Save**.
