# Remove Fourthwall from Meta Business Integrations

Disconnecting the Meta shopping app in Fourthwall only removes the active product catalog link. Your Facebook Pixel ID, Meta Conversions API (CAPI) credentials, and Fourthwall's entry in Facebook Business Integrations stay in place until you remove each one separately. To fully separate the two accounts, clean up all four surfaces in the order below.

## What stays after disconnecting Meta shopping

When you disconnect the Meta shopping app from your Fourthwall dashboard, Fourthwall removes the catalog record that pushes products to your Facebook and Instagram shop. The rest of your Meta configuration is stored separately and is not cleared automatically:

- **Facebook Pixel ID** stays in **Analytics** > [**Tracking pixels**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/analytics/overview/tracking-pixels?redirect). Fourthwall keeps firing browser Pixel events with this ID until you clear the field.
- **Meta Conversions API credentials** stay in the [**Meta Conversions**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/meta-capi?redirect) app. The Pixel ID and access token are stored on the CAPI app record, not on the shopping app.
- **Fourthwall** stays listed under your **Facebook Business Integrations** with whatever permissions you granted. Meta keeps the integration registered even when no catalog is linked.

You need to remove each one explicitly. The steps below walk through them in order.

## Step 1: Disconnect Meta shopping in Fourthwall

Start in your Fourthwall dashboard so the catalog connection is removed before you revoke permissions on Meta's side.

1. Go to **Apps** > [**Instagram and Facebook Shop**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/meta?redirect).
2. Click **Disconnect**.
3. Confirm when prompted.

This removes the active catalog record. Your Facebook Pixel ID and Conversions API credentials are not affected by this step.

## Step 2: Clear the Facebook Pixel ID from Fourthwall

The browser Pixel is configured separately under your analytics settings. Clear it so Fourthwall stops firing Pixel events.

1. Go to **Analytics** > [**Tracking pixels**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/analytics/overview/tracking-pixels?redirect).
2. Delete the value in the **Facebook Pixel** field.
3. Click **Save**.

If you also want to remove the Pixel itself from Meta, follow Step 5 after you finish the Fourthwall-side cleanup.

## Step 3: Disconnect the Meta Conversions API app

The Meta Conversions API (CAPI) app stores its own Pixel ID and access token. Disconnecting it stops Fourthwall from sending server-side purchase events to Meta.

1. Go to [**Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/settings/apps/?redirect) > **Meta Conversions** or open the app directly at [Meta Conversions](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/meta-capi?redirect).
2. Click **Disconnect**.
3. Confirm when prompted.

The CAPI app and the shopping app are separate integrations. Disconnecting one does not disconnect the other.

## Step 4: Remove Fourthwall from Facebook Business Integrations

Even after the Fourthwall side is clean, Meta still lists Fourthwall as an authorized integration. Remove it so Meta no longer has Fourthwall's tokens on file.

1. Log in to Facebook with the account that manages your business.
2. Go to [Business Integrations](https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools) at `facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools`.
3. Find **Fourthwall** in the list of active business integrations.
4. Click **View and edit**, then click **Remove**.
5. Confirm the removal in the dialog Meta shows.

If you manage several Facebook business portfolios, repeat this step for each portfolio where Fourthwall was connected.

## Step 5: Delete the Pixel from Meta (optional)

Removing Fourthwall from Business Integrations leaves the Pixel itself in Meta. If you also want to delete the Pixel, do it from Meta Business Manager.

1. Go to [Meta Events Manager](https://business.facebook.com/events_manager2/).
2. From the left menu, open **Data Sources** > **Pixels** (also called **Datasets** in some accounts).
3. Select the Pixel you want to delete.
4. Open the Pixel's **Settings**.
5. Scroll to the bottom and click **Delete dataset** (or **Delete pixel**).
6. Confirm the deletion.

Important: Deleting a Pixel is permanent. You lose all historical event data tied to that Pixel ID, and any ad campaigns optimized on it lose their learning. If you plan to reconnect a different shop to the same Pixel later, leave the Pixel in place and only revoke Fourthwall's access.

## When Meta still blocks deletion

If you finish the steps above and Meta still shows Fourthwall as connected, or refuses to delete the Pixel with a vague error, send us the details so we can revoke Fourthwall's side of the connection from the backend.

Email [support@fourthwall.com](mailto:support@fourthwall.com) with:

- The exact error message Meta is showing, copy-pasted from the dialog.
- The Pixel ID you are trying to delete.
- The Facebook business portfolio or Page name where Fourthwall is still listed.
- A screenshot of the Business Integrations page or the Events Manager error, if possible.

We will confirm that nothing on Fourthwall's side is holding the integration open and walk you through the next step with Meta.

## Frequently asked questions

### Will disconnecting Meta shopping also remove my Facebook Pixel?

No. The Meta shopping app and the Facebook Pixel are separate records in Fourthwall. The Pixel ID stays in **Analytics** > **Tracking pixels** until you clear it manually.

### Does disconnecting the shopping app also disconnect the Conversions API?

No. The Meta Conversions API app stores its own Pixel ID and access token. Disconnect it separately from [Meta Conversions](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/meta-capi?redirect).

### Why does Fourthwall still appear in my Facebook Business Integrations after I disconnect everything in Fourthwall?

Meta keeps the integration registered on its side until you remove it from [Business Integrations](https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools). The Fourthwall dashboard cannot remove it for you.

### Can I keep my Facebook Pixel and only disconnect Fourthwall?

Yes. Clear the Pixel ID from **Analytics** > **Tracking pixels** in Fourthwall, disconnect the CAPI app, and remove Fourthwall from Business Integrations. Skip Step 5 to keep the Pixel and its history in Meta.
