# Track sales with Facebook's Conversions API on Fourthwall

The Facebook Conversions API (CAPI) lets Fourthwall send purchase-journey events to Meta server-to-server, so your ads keep learning even when cookies, ad-blockers, or iOS privacy prompts hide the browser Pixel. Running CAPI alongside the Meta Pixel gives Meta two chances to see every sale while automatically deduplicating overlaps. Fourthwall's dedicated Meta Ads app provides event quality on par with Shopify's integration, giving your ad campaigns access to higher-fidelity purchase signals.

## How does it work?

Once connected, Fourthwall sends these standard events directly from its servers to Meta, with all relevant metadata included:

- PageView
- View Content
- Add To Cart
- Initiate Checkout
- Add Payment Info
- Purchase

Meta merges each server event with the matching browser Pixel event using the shared `event_id`, so you never double-count conversions. This means your reporting stays accurate even when a user's browser blocks the Pixel.

## When should I use the Facebook Conversions API?

Use the Facebook Conversions API if you want more accurate and reliable purchase tracking for your ad campaigns while avoiding the impact of ad blockers. We recommend running both CAPI and the Meta Pixel together for the most complete data. Each handles a different layer of tracking, and together they cover gaps that either one alone would miss.

For setup instructions for the Meta Pixel, see [Setting Up Meta Pixel for Retargeting Ads on Fourthwall](/manage-my-shop/apps-features-and-integrations/set-up-meta-pixel).

## Prerequisites

Before setting up the Facebook Conversions API, you need a Meta Business account with at least Apps and integrations access for the brand you advertise.

## How to set it up

### Step 1: Create a new dataset

1. Log in to Meta Business settings at [https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings](https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings)
2. Open **Data Sources > Datasets and Pixels**
3. Click **Add** and create a new DataSet

### Step 2: Generate an access token

1. Log in to Meta Events Manager at [https://business.facebook.com/events_manager2](https://business.facebook.com/events_manager2)
2. Open your Dataset
3. Select **Settings**
4. Scroll down to **Set up direct integration** and generate an access token

### Step 3: Add your Pixel ID and access token to Fourthwall

1. Go to the [Meta Conversions App](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/meta-capi?redirect) in Fourthwall
2. Enter your **Pixel ID** and **Access Token**. Your Pixel ID is the same as your Dataset ID from the settings above.
3. Within 2 hours, you should see events appearing in your Events Manager
