# Connecting your Instagram Feed

Connecting your Instagram account to Fourthwall displays your most recent Instagram posts as a feed section on your shop homepage. Supporters can click individual posts to view them directly on Instagram. Only professional Instagram accounts (Business or Creator) are supported. Personal accounts will NOT display a feed, even if the connection appears successful.

## Requirements

- Your Instagram account must be a **professional account** (Business or Creator). Meta does not allow personal accounts to share their feeds on external sites.

## How to connect your Instagram feed

1. In your Fourthwall dashboard, go to [**Apps** > **Instagram Feed**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/instagram?redirect).
2. Click **Connect**. A popup will open prompting you to log into Instagram and grant Fourthwall permission to access your feed.
3. Click **Allow** to grant the required permissions.

After authorization, the app page will show your account as **Connected**. Your Instagram feed will appear on your shop homepage automatically.

## How to manage Instagram feed settings

After connecting, you can control the appearance and layout of the Instagram feed section from the Site Designer.

1. In your Fourthwall dashboard, go to [**Site Designer** > **Layout**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/store-design/layout/index/?redirect).
2. Select **Home page** from the layout options.
3. Scroll down to the **Instagram feed** section and click it to open the section settings.

From the section settings, you can configure:

- **Section title**. The heading displayed above the feed on your homepage.
- **Post quantity**. How many recent posts appear in the feed.
- **Post size**. The display size of individual post thumbnails.
- **Post spacing**. The gap between post thumbnails in the grid.

Changes preview in the Site Designer in real time. Save your layout when finished.

## Troubleshooting

**Problem:** Instagram feed is not appearing on the homepage after connecting.
**Solution:** Confirm your Instagram account is a professional account (Business or Creator). Personal accounts are NOT supported by Meta's API and will not display a feed. Convert your account to professional in the Instagram app, then reconnect from the Apps page.

**Problem:** The feed appears but shows outdated posts.
**Solution:** The Instagram feed pulls your most recent posts directly from the Instagram API. If the feed is not updating, disconnect and reconnect the integration from [**Apps** > **Instagram Feed**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/apps/instagram?redirect).

**Problem:** The Instagram section is not visible on the homepage even after connecting.
**Solution:** The Instagram feed section may need to be added to your homepage layout manually. Go to **Site Designer** > **Layout** > **Home page** and confirm the Instagram feed section is present and enabled.
