# Connecting beehiiv to your Fourthwall site

beehiiv is a newsletter platform that lets you monetize your audience through email. Connecting beehiiv to your Fourthwall site automatically syncs newsletter signups and order emails (from supporters who opt in to email marketing) to your beehiiv account.

## How the beehiiv integration works

Once connected, beehiiv receives email addresses from two sources on your Fourthwall site:

- **Newsletter registrations.** When a supporter enters their email into your site's mailing list signup form, their email is automatically sent to beehiiv.
- **Checkout opt-ins.** When a supporter places an order and checks the email marketing opt-in box during checkout, their email is automatically sent to beehiiv.

You can then use beehiiv to send newsletter messages and updates to your full subscriber list.

## How to import past subscriber data into beehiiv

Emails only sync from the moment you connect the app. They do not sync retroactively. To add past subscribers to your beehiiv account, export your existing subscriber list from Fourthwall:

1. Go to [**Settings** > **General**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/settings/general?redirect).
2. Scroll down to the **Email marketing** section.
3. Click **Download subscribers list (CSV)**.

Upload the exported CSV file to your beehiiv account to bring in your historical subscribers.

## How to connect beehiiv to Fourthwall

To set up the integration, you need two items from your beehiiv account: your API key and your publication ID.

1. In your Fourthwall dashboard, go to [**Settings** > **Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/settings/apps/?redirect).
2. Locate the **beehiiv** app tile and click it.

3. Enter your [beehiiv API key](https://developers.beehiiv.com/docs/v2/bktd9a7mxo67n-create-an-api-key) (requires identity verification via Stripe).
4. Enter your beehiiv [publication ID](https://support.beehiiv.com/hc/en-us/articles/13091918395799). Be sure to use the **V2** publication ID.
5. Click **Connect to beehiiv**.

If the connection is successful, the page displays a connected state with a **Disconnect** button.

All future newsletter signups and orders with email opt-in will automatically sync to your beehiiv newsletter.

## How to disconnect beehiiv from Fourthwall

To disconnect, go to [**Settings** > **Apps**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/settings/apps/?redirect), open the beehiiv app, and click the **Disconnect** button.

Disconnecting does not remove emails that were previously synced to beehiiv. To remove those subscribers, delete them manually through your beehiiv dashboard.
