# How to Enable Donations on Your Site

Donations let supporters contribute directly on your Fourthwall site homepage, during checkout, or on any custom page. Fourthwall does not charge platform fees on donations. You keep 100% of every donation, minus standard credit card processing fees.

## Where donations can appear on your site

You can add a donation section to three locations on your Fourthwall site:

- **Homepage.** Add a donation section through the Site Design layout editor for your home page.
- **Checkout flow.** Enable a donation option that appears during the checkout process, allowing supporters to add a donation to any order.
- **Custom pages.** Add a donation section to any custom page you create through the Site Design editor.

Each location is configured independently. Enabling donations on your homepage does not affect checkout or custom pages, and vice versa.

## How to enable donations on your homepage

To add a donation section to your homepage:

1. Go to **Site design** > **Layout** > [**Home**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/store-design-v2/layout/index/?redirect).
2. Click **+ Add page section** on the left sidebar.
3. Under the **Others** category, select **Donations**.
4. Customize the donation section title, description, and preset donation amounts using the options on the left panel.
5. Click **Save**.

## How to customize, hide, or remove a donation section

After adding a donation section, you can adjust it in several ways:

- **Hide the section.** Click the eye icon next to the section name in the layout sidebar. The section stays saved but is hidden from supporters. You can unhide it at any time.
- **Move the section.** Place your cursor on the drag handle next to the section name and drag it to a new position in the layout.
- **Edit content.** Click the **Donation** section to update the title, description, and donation amounts. You can also customize the section appearance.
- **Rename, duplicate, or remove.** Click the three-dot menu on the donation section for additional options, including renaming, duplicating, or permanently removing the section.

Hidden sections are not deleted. You can re-enable them at any time by clicking the eye icon again.

## How to enable donations in checkout

To add a donation option to your checkout flow:

1. Go to **Site design** > [**Layout**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/store-design-v2/layout/index/?redirect).
2. From the page dropdown at the top, select **Checkout**.
3. Scroll to the **Donation** settings.
4. Enable or disable the donation option at checkout.
5. Set preset donation amounts that supporters can choose from.
6. Customize the donation-related text and appearance.

The checkout donation setting is independent of homepage or custom page donations. Changing one does not affect the others.

## Custom field limitations on donation forms

Donation forms support preset donation amounts and basic information only. You cannot add or modify form fields such as phone numbers or addresses on donation forms. If you need more advanced donation form features, consider using a third-party tool alongside your Fourthwall site.
