# How to add or update your credit card information

Fourthwall requires a valid payment method on your account to cover costs like product manufacturing, shipping, and other charges that may exceed your account balance. You can add, remove, and manage credit cards from your dashboard at any time.

## How to add a payment method

To add a credit card to your Fourthwall account:

1. Go to [**Settings > Billing and payouts**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/settings/billing/?redirect) in your dashboard.
2. Scroll to the **Payment methods** section.
3. Click **Add a payment method**.
4. Enter your credit card details and click **Save**.

If you manage multiple Fourthwall shops, you can reuse a card from another site. Click **Add a payment method from another Fourthwall site you manage** to select an existing card.

## How to manage your payment methods

All saved cards appear under **Payment methods** in **Settings > Billing and payouts**. You can add multiple cards to your account, but only one can be the default payment method at a time.

To change your default card, add a new card, or delete an existing one, click the three-dot menu to the right of the card.

## How to set a monthly charge limit

You can control how much Fourthwall charges your card each month by setting a monthly charge limit. This is the maximum amount your card will be charged during a calendar month.

To set or update your charge limit:

1. Go to [**Settings > Billing and payouts**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/settings/billing/?redirect).
2. Click **Set a monthly charge limit**.
3. Enter your preferred amount and save.

You can also view how much has been charged to your card so far in the current month from this same section.

## What happens if you exceed your charge limit

If you exceed your monthly charge limit, Fourthwall blocks any transaction that results in negative profit and cannot be covered by your account balance. To unblock transactions, you have three options:

- Raise your monthly charge limit
- Earn enough profit to cover the negative balance
- Wait until your charge limit resets at the start of the next calendar month
