# Submitting Your Fourthwall Site to Google Search Console

Submitting your domain and sitemap to Google Search Console helps Google discover and index your Fourthwall site faster. After launching your shop or connecting a custom domain, it can take a few days to two weeks for your pages to appear in Google search results. Google controls when and how pages get indexed, not Fourthwall.

## How search indexing works on Fourthwall

Fourthwall automatically handles the technical SEO foundations for your site. This includes sitemap generation, canonical URLs, crawling accessibility, and page indexing structure. You do not need to configure any of these manually.

Google controls when and how your pages get indexed. Typical indexing timelines are a few days to two weeks for new sites, though some pages may take longer depending on Google's crawl schedule. Even if your site is fully set up, it may not appear in Google search results immediately.

## How to add your domain to Google Search Console

Submitting your domain to Google Search Console tells Google your site exists and should be crawled.

1. Go to [https://search.google.com/search-console](https://search.google.com/search-console).
2. Click **Add property**.
3. Choose **Domain** or **URL prefix**.
4. Enter your custom domain (for example, `https://yourstore.com`).
5. Complete domain verification using your DNS provider.

After verification, submit your sitemap so Google can crawl all your pages.

## How to submit your sitemap

Fourthwall automatically generates a sitemap for your site. Your sitemap URL follows this format: `https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml`.

1. Open Google Search Console.
2. Go to **Sitemaps** in the left sidebar.
3. Paste your sitemap URL (`https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml`).
4. Click **Submit**.

Submitting the sitemap tells Google where all your pages are, which speeds up the crawling process.

## Why Google shows a "fourthwall.com" subdomain in search results

You may see links like `yourstore-shop.fourthwall.com` in Google search results. This is a hidden system subdomain used internally by Fourthwall. Visitors will always land on your custom domain. This does not hurt SEO. Google will eventually prioritize your main domain over the system subdomain, so no action is needed on your part.

## SEO limitations on Fourthwall

Fourthwall does not offer manual SEO keyword fields. SEO is driven by your product titles, product descriptions, page content, and collection names. Write clear, descriptive product titles and descriptions that real people would search for. Search engines favor natural language over keyword stuffing.

## Troubleshooting indexing delays

If your site still does not appear in Google search results after two weeks, check the following:

- Confirm your domain is connected correctly in your Fourthwall dashboard.
- Confirm your site status is set to **Public**.
- Submit your sitemap in Google Search Console if you have not already.
- Use the **URL Inspection** tool in Google Search Console to request indexing for specific pages.

If all of the above checks out, indexing delays are almost always on Google's side. Google does not guarantee a specific indexing timeline.
