# Promote the launch of your new shop

Promoting your Fourthwall shop doesn't require an ad budget. By combining promo codes, social media links, platform integrations, and fan-generated content, you can create excitement, attract buyers, and drive your first sales.

## Create a promo code

A launch-day discount gives supporters a concrete reason to buy right away. Create a promo code for a percentage discount, fixed amount off, or free shipping tied to a minimum order. Setting an expiration date creates urgency and encourages immediate purchases.

## Add social links to your storefront

Adding your social media profiles to your storefront lets visitors find your official accounts directly from your shop. Go to **Site Design** > **Style** > **Social links** to connect your Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and other accounts. Profile icons appear on your site wherever your theme displays social links.

## Should I link to my shop or to individual products?

Where you share a link determines whether to use your shop homepage or a specific product URL.

- **Social media bios (Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube):** Link to your shop homepage. Bios stay visible long-term, so a single shop link works even as your catalog changes. Supporters can browse everything from one landing page.
- **Video descriptions and stream panels:** Link to specific products you mention or show in the video. Viewers who just watched you talk about a product want to go straight to that item.
- **Email newsletters and blog posts:** Use a mix. Lead with one or two featured product links, then include your shop link at the bottom for supporters who want to explore more.

Use your shop link when the context is general, and use individual product links when you're highlighting something specific.

## Announce your shop on social media

Your existing audience is your strongest launch asset. Post about your new shop on every platform where you have followers:

- Post a short teaser video or reel showing your top products on TikTok or Instagram Reels
- Link to specific products in Instagram and TikTok Stories using the product link sticker
- Write a launch blog post or film a vlog showing behind-the-scenes of your product design process
- Create a branded hashtag and repost fan content that uses it

Timing matters: posting within 24-48 hours of your launch, rather than only on launch day, keeps the announcement in feeds longer.

## Feature your products on YouTube

If you have a YouTube channel, the [Merch Shelf](/manage-my-shop/apps-features-and-integrations/set-up-youtube-merch-shelf-and-feature-products-on-end-screen) displays selected Fourthwall products directly below your videos. You can also feature your shop during live streams or product reveal videos to engage your audience and drive clicks in real time.

To set up the Merch Shelf, go to **Dashboard** > **Apps** > **YouTube Merch Shelf** and authorize the connection.

## Use other social shopping integrations

Fourthwall supports social shopping integrations that let fans buy directly from your profiles on other platforms:

Setting up at least one social shopping integration increases product visibility for audiences who discover you on those platforms.

## Repost and celebrate fan support

User-generated content (UGC) is one of the most effective ways to drive sales. When potential supporters see real people wearing or using your products, it builds trust faster than any product photo or ad.

Here's how to encourage fans to share:

- **Ask directly.** After a purchase confirmation or in your community channels, ask supporters to post a photo or video with their order. A simple "Tag us when your merch arrives!" goes a long way.
- **Create a branded hashtag.** Pick a short, memorable hashtag for your shop and include it on your shop page, social bios, and post-purchase emails. This makes fan content easy to find and repost.
- **Feature supporters on your channels.** Repost fan photos, unboxing videos, and outfit pics to your Instagram Stories, TikTok, or X feed. When supporters see you sharing their content, more fans will post to get featured too.

The best UGC to repost includes unboxing reactions, photos of supporters wearing your merch in everyday settings, and creative uses of your products. These feel genuine and drive others to buy.
