# How do I create a QR code leading to my site?

Fourthwall automatically generates a scannable QR code for every shop. Accessing it requires no configuration — append `/platform/qr` to your shop URL in any browser and the QR code page loads immediately, ready to save and share.

## Step 1: Copy your shop URL

Sign in to your Fourthwall dashboard. Your shop URL is displayed near the top of the dashboard home page. Click the copy button to copy it to your clipboard.
Your shop URL follows this format: `https://yourshopname.fourthwall.com`

If you have a custom domain connected, use your custom domain URL instead (e.g., `https://shop.yourdomain.com`).

## Step 2: Open the QR code page

Paste your shop URL into a browser address bar and add `/platform/qr` to the end:

```
https://yourshopname.fourthwall.com/platform/qr
```

This page automatically generates and displays a QR code that links directly to your storefront. No sign-in or configuration is needed to view it.

## Step 3: Save and use your QR code

Right-click the QR code image (or long-press on a mobile device) and select **Save image as** to download it.
Once saved, you can place the QR code in:

- **Business cards** — Lets customers scan directly from print materials to open your shop.
- **Videos and livestreams** — Particularly useful for viewers watching on TV or a second screen who cannot click a link.
- **Flyers and print materials** — Events, pop-up shops, or physical merchandise packaging.
- **Social media posts and stories** — Provides a quick path to your shop for followers viewing on mobile.

The QR code is a PNG image. It can be resized and placed in any design tool (Canva, Photoshop, etc.) without quality loss as long as the printed size is large enough for phone cameras to scan reliably.

## Testing your QR code

Always scan the QR code with a phone camera before distributing it. Check that:

- It opens your correct shop URL (not an old URL or a draft page).
- The shop loads fully and is set to **Live** status — Coming soon and Password-protected shops do not show the storefront to visitors who scan the code.
- The printed size is sufficient for your use case. For print materials, QR codes should generally be at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) square for reliable scanning.

## Troubleshooting & Common Issues

**Problem:** The QR code URL returns an error or does not load.
**Solution:** Verify that your shop URL is correct and your shop is active. If you recently changed your shop's subdomain, the old URL is no longer valid — generate the QR code using the updated URL.

**Problem:** Scanning the QR code opens the shop but shows the Coming soon page instead of products.
**Solution:** Your shop status is set to Coming soon or Password-protected. Change the shop status to **Live** from **Site design** > **Layout** > the status button in the top-right corner.

**Problem:** The QR code is blurry when printed.
**Solution:** The `/platform/qr` page generates a standard PNG. Right-click and save the full-resolution image. If the printed output is blurry, confirm you are printing at a sufficient resolution (at least 300 DPI for print materials).
