# Add videos to your site

You can add videos to your Fourthwall site across multiple sections — homepage, product collection pages, and custom pages — using direct file upload or a YouTube or Vimeo URL embed.

## Where you can add videos

Videos are supported in several site sections:

- **Homepage** — Add a featured video in the hero section to greet visitors.
- **Product collection pages** — Showcase a product in use or highlight product features.
- **Custom pages** — Add campaign videos, event teasers, or special announcements.

## How to add a video

These steps use the homepage as an example. The same process applies to any other section.

1. In your Fourthwall dashboard, go to [**Site design**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/store-design-v2/layout/index/).
2. Choose where you want to add a video section (e.g., **Home**).
3. Click **(+) Add page section**, then click **Add** next to **Video** or **Video with text**.
4. Delete the default placeholder video. The upload option only appears after the default is removed.
5. Select your preferred method: direct file upload or embed using a YouTube or Vimeo URL.

6. Adjust the available settings — autoplay, loop, video controls, width, and advanced options. The preview updates automatically as you make changes.
7. Click **Save** to apply your changes.

Video controls (play, pause, etc.) only work with directly uploaded videos. They do not apply to embedded YouTube or Vimeo videos.

## Video with text section

The **Video with text** section combines a video with a text block displayed alongside it. It supports the same settings as the standard video section — autoplay, loop, and hide controls — and adds a text area for a heading, description, or call to action next to the video.

## Best practices

- Host videos on YouTube or Vimeo for best performance and reliable streaming.
- Keep uploaded videos short to minimize page load time.
