# Print on demand FAQs

Print-on-Demand (POD) is a production method where items are only printed after a supporter places an order. There is no pre-printing, no inventory to manage, and no upfront stock risk. Fourthwall handles the production and shipping workflow, so you focus on designing products.

## What is Print-on-Demand?

Print-on-Demand (POD) is a production method where an item is only printed after someone places an order. Your design is sent to a manufacturing partner, who produces the item and ships it directly to your supporter. There is no need to pre-print, hold inventory, or risk unsold stock. POD is the default production method for on-demand products in the Fourthwall catalog.

## Are there any minimum order requirements?

No. There are no minimum order requirements for POD products. You can sell one item or a thousand. POD lets you launch products without worrying about leftover inventory or storage costs. Each item is produced individually after purchase.

## What products can I create with POD?

You can add your designs to hundreds of products, including apparel, posters, mugs, cards, accessories, and more. You focus on the artwork, and Fourthwall's production partners handle printing and delivery. Browse available products in [**Products > Discover Products**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/products/?redirect) in your dashboard.

## What is a print shop?

A print shop is the manufacturer that produces your items. Print shops use methods such as Direct-to-Garment (DTG), Direct-to-Film (DTFx), embroidery, sublimation, or screen printing, depending on the product type. Fourthwall automatically routes each order to the appropriate print shop based on the product and print method.

## Is POD the same as dropshipping?

No. Dropshipping sells pre-made items that ship immediately from existing stock. POD items are made specifically for your supporter after purchase, fully customized with your design. Every POD order is produced on demand with your artwork applied to the product.

## What happens after a supporter places an order?

When a supporter purchases a POD product, Fourthwall handles the entire production workflow:

1. Your design is sent to the manufacturing partner.
2. The manufacturing partner prints the item on demand.
3. The finished order ships directly to your supporter, typically within a few business days.

You can track order status in [**Orders**](https://my-shop.fourthwall.com/admin/dashboard/contributions/orders/?redirect) in your dashboard.
